Basildon Park is an impressive Georgian mansion built in the late 18th Century, surrounded by glorious parkland. The property was lovingly rescued from ruin by Lord and Lady Iliffe in the mid 1950s, when they restored the elegant interior and scoured the country salvaging 18th-century architectural fixtures and fittings. In 2005 Basildon Park became ‘Netherfield’ in the recent adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. The suite of perfectly restored rooms, which were originally intended for the great entertainments of country house life, provide a unique historical setting for your special day. Avington Park is a privately owned stately home with a lovely entrance along the lime tree avenue to the magnificent frontage of the Palladian mansion. The house is set in its own parkland, bordering the River Itchen with magnificent views. Stonor Park is the Thames Valley and Chilterns hidden gem, set in 230 acres of parkland and home to a herd of wild fallow deer. The fine Tudor e-shape house, with its warm brick facade surrounded by beech woods and fields, undoubtedly provides a stunning backdrop for a marquee wedding or private and corporate entertaining. Offering exclusive use of the venue, there are two potential marquee sites in the heart of the park approached by a long drive after an entry through impressive gates. The thirteenth century chapel situated on the south-east corner is available for Catholic wedding ceremonies. Set at the end of a sweeping drive with parkland, gardens and a lake, Marlston House is a wonderfully romantic period house which is grand, and yet comfortable and welcoming.
